Fe & Pete

The perfect summer wedding set in beautiful countryside with a typically Yorkshire theme and a few surprises for the groom.

One of the best things about being a makeup artist is all the secrets and surprises you get told as you prep your client. I suppose when somebody is sat in your seat and you are invading there space so closely by doing there makeup they become comfortable enough to tell you all kinds. If my brushes had ears they would have been able to tell a tale or two. Not much shocks me now and just in case it does I have managed to perfect my poker face. On this occasion with my lovely bride Fe it was great to be in on the surprises that she had in store for her hubby to be. Nobody else knew, so it was surprises galore for the guests too. Who else better to tell than your makeup artist right?

A natural beauty with amazing long red hair, Fe knew exactly what she didn't want. Her contemporary wedding dress mixed with a bohemian styled veil and hand-cut mixed posy suggested we needed to keep her hair and makeup simple yet effective.

Two hair trials later we perfected the ultimate bouncy blow dry, which by the way is never just a brush and hairdryer job. It really should be named something more complex than just a blow dry. Never the less it looked fabulous. Isla Fisher eat your heart out! Glamorous without trying to hard.

We kept makeup simple too. Defined and accentuated features with as little as possible. Fe looked made up with out looking like she was wearing lots of makeup. I was glad to see by the party at night everything was still in place even after she had raided her glitter bar. (what a fab touch for guests)

I used my favourite products from Arbonne for hair and makeup as well as The O from cloud 9 to help with the "blow dry" and the brilliant curl bar by hot tools.

We worked on all the bridesmaids hair and created a soft bohemian style to compliment Fe and their dresses. It was an early start with 9 people to get ready before 11am but there really is nothing more fun than getting a group of lovely ladies ready so much so I often don't need an alarm clock as I am just to excited. Another great perk of being a makeup artist.
